G’day, Honeys!

We’ve made it to Day 5 of the Diamine Inkvent Calendar, and today’s colour, Blue Peppermint, is a real treat. This light blue-green ink has a festive shimmer that sparkles just enough to remind you of mint lollies (or candies, for the American Honeys). It’s easily one of my favourites so far, even if my writing today (not just today haha) looks a bit… well, blotchy.

Today’s Colour: Blue Peppermint

This is a bright, playful colour that screams holiday cheer. The shimmer isn’t overpowering but adds a frosty, icy vibe, like a peppermint stick twirling in hot cocoa. Whether it’s the fresh, minty colour or the way it catches the light, Blue Peppermint feels as refreshing as the name suggests.

Testing the Ink

Here’s how it went with my usual nib lineup:

  • Dominant Industry Ink Muddler (glass nib): This ink actually looks really nice with the glass nib, which surprised me. The fine lines still manage to capture the light shimmer, giving a frosty effect that fits the festive vibe perfectly.
  • Sailor Hocoro (medium nib): The Sailor Hocoro brings out a fuller shade of the blue-green tones. The shimmer sparkles a bit more here, and the ink lays down smooth and even.
  • Kakimori brass nib: As always, this nib steals the show. Blue Peppermint looks stunning in broader strokes, with the shimmer more pronounced and the colour showing its full vibrancy.

Writing Woes

Let’s be honest, Honeys: my handwriting isn’t the best today—bit blotchy, not my finest hour. But that’s more on me than the ink. Blue Peppermint has such a fun and festive vibe that even my less-than-perfect writing can’t ruin it.

Wrapping It Up

If you’re into minty colours with a frosty shimmer, Blue Peppermint is definitely one to try. It’s playful, festive, and full of personality—a standout from the calendar so far. Thanks for coming along for the ride!

As always, the video shows a closer look at the ink in action. And don’t forget to turn your shimmer inks gently, Honeys—no shaking allowed!

See you tomorrow for Day 6, and here’s hoping my handwriting improves. Cheers!
