Hey Honeys!
Day 16 has us diving into Polar Glow, an ink that feels like a déjà vu moment following yesterday’s Jack Frost. This one is a standard ink with no shimmer, and the resemblance to its predecessor is uncanny—so much so that you’ll see them side-by-side in the video below to catch the subtle differences!
Today’s Colour: Polar Glow
Polar Glow is a slightly darker blue compared to Jack Frost, though the difference is barely perceptible. Its tone is a medium-dark blue that’s dependable but lacks that unique spark we’ve come to expect from the Inkvent lineup. It feels like the reliable sibling of Jack Frost, but maybe they could’ve spaced out the blues to make it less obvious!
Testing the Ink
- Dominant Industry Ink Muddler (glass nib): The glass nib lays down a faint, smooth line. The lack of shimmer makes the blue feel understated but not unappealing.
- Sailor Hocoro (medium nib): The medium nib brought a bit more depth to the colour, but it still didn’t dazzle. Perfect for consistent writing, though!
- Kakimori brass nib: The Kakimori gave it some oomph, showcasing the darkest variation of Polar Glow, but still nothing that feels new.
Final Thoughts
Polar Glow feels like a repeat guest at the Inkvent party. It’s good, but not great, and when paired with Jack Frost, it’s clear they could’ve skipped one—or at least shuffled the order to keep things fresh. That said, if you love blue inks, this one will happily join your arsenal for consistent everyday writing.

Stay glowing, Honeys! See you tomorrow for more Inkvent fun!
