Hey Honeys!

Day 17 brings us Holly, a wonderfully intriguing blue-green that dances between the two shades depending on the light. It’s a playful and vibrant colour that truly captures the holiday spirit. Whether it’s shimmering green in a darkened room or leaning towards blue in brighter light, Holly is definitely a standout ink this season.

Today’s Colour: Holly

Holly feels alive—ever-changing and dynamic. When you look at it under soft light, the green tones take over, creating a lush, festive vibe. In brighter conditions, the blue shines through, adding a coolness that feels fresh and modern. It’s a great pick for anyone who loves colours with a bit of personality!

Testing the Ink

  • Dominant Industry Ink Muddler (glass nib): Apologies, Honeys—I didn’t load enough ink on the muddler this time, so the writing came out a bit faint. Even so, you can see hints of the colour’s duality, especially in the transitions between strokes.
  • Sailor Hocoro (medium nib): The medium nib did this ink justice, showing off the rich green hues with just a whisper of blue. It’s smooth, even, and delightful to write with.
  • Kakimori brass nib: The Kakimori brought out the full spectrum of Holly’s beauty. The ink felt lush and bold, with a perfect balance of blue and green that practically glows on the page.

Final Thoughts

Holly is a festive favourite for me—it’s my favourite colour and captures the spirit of the season so well. Whether you’re sketching wreaths or writing holiday greetings, this ink brings the magic of Christmas to life.

Check out the video below to see Holly in action, and let me know if you think it’s as enchanting as I do!

Stay merry, Honeys, and keep spreading that festive cheer!
