Hey Honeys!
Day 22 brings us Triple Chocolate, a rich brown that, honestly, could be mistaken for yesterday’s Roasted Chestnut at first glance. The colour is deep, warm, and deliciously smooth—like a creamy blend of cocoa, with just enough distinction to make it stand out when you give it a closer look.
Today’s Colour: Triple Chocolate
This one is a deep, velvety brown that has a bit of a reddish undertone, giving it that chocolaty warmth we all crave. It’s subtle, but there’s a richness in the hue that makes it very inviting, even if it doesn’t shout for attention like some other bold colours.
Testing the Ink
Dominant Industry Ink Muddler (glass nib): The Muddler laid down a steady stream of ink, and while it’s hard to tell this apart from the Roasted Chestnut, it’s still a smooth ride. The ink spread well and provided an even flow.
Sailor Hocoro (medium nib): The medium nib delivered a darker, more consistent line compared to the Muddler. It wasn’t quite as rich as expected, but it still gave that warm chocolate feel, making it a nice ink to use for those more casual writing moments.
Kakimori brass nib: The Kakimori, as always, brought out the ink’s full potential, giving the brown a beautiful, full-bodied depth. The consistency was great, with no paper absorption issues like the day before.
Final Thoughts
Triple Chocolate is a delicious, indulgent colour, but if you’re hoping for something drastically different from Roasted Chestnut, you might be a bit underwhelmed. That being said, it’s still a lovely, wearable shade—perfect for journaling or writing cards. It might not stand out on its own as much as some of the other colours, but it’s definitely got its charm.
